Hey everyone, how are you all doing? Welcome back to SSC Tides. I know the wait for the SSC CPO 2025 Physical dates has been making everyone nervous. As the owner of the SSC Tides website and YouTube channel and more importantly, as a fellow aspirant preparing right alongside you. I have done a deep analysis on both the upcoming physical dates and the expected safe scores for the Mains.
If you prefer watching the detailed breakdowns, you can check out the analysis videos on my channel here –
Let’s jump right into the data and see what we can expect in the coming months.
SSC CPO 2025 Physical Dates Analysis
To understand when our physical tests might start, I went back and analyzed the trends from the last four years. The most crucial takeaway is that the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) does not give you a lot of time once the physical notice is out.
Here is the table summarizing the past trends –
| Year | Tier 1 Result Date | Physical Notice Date | Physical Start Date | Gap (Notice to Physical) |
| 2020 | – | 30 July | 11 August | ~11 Days |
| 2022 | 27 December | 25 January | ~30 January | ~5 Days |
| 2023 | 25 October | 8 November | 14 November | ~6 Days |
| 2024 | 2 September | 10 October | 14 October | ~4 Days |
What does this mean for us in 2026?
The Tier 1 result was declared on 30th March. If we look at the general gap of 25 to 40 days between the result and the physical notice, we can expect the notice to drop anytime between 15th May and 25th May.
Historically, physicals start within just 5 to 10 days of the notice. So, my prediction is that the SSC CPO Physicals will kick off between 5th June and 15th June. Do not wait for the notice to start running, the timeline will be very tight.
SSC CPO Mains Expected Safe Score 2025 & Cut off
Now, let’s talk about the Mains. How much do you really need to score to secure a seat, especially the highly coveted Delhi Police SI post?
This year, we are seeing a massive drop in competition at the top end. Let’s look at the data comparing candidates who scored 150+ raw marks in Tier 1 –
| Year | Total Candidates Scoring 150+ Marks |
| 2024 | ~5,000 (4,400 Male + 600 Female) approx |
| Current Year | ~1,129 (approx. 1,000 Male) |
The competition at the higher scores has reduced to almost 25% compared to the 2024 cycle. On top of that, vacancies have increased. For instance, Delhi Police SI (Male) open vacancies have gone up from 101 to 125. Factoring in candidates who will fail the physical or skip the exam due to (CGL) selection, the cutoffs are bound to dip.
Expected Safe Scores (Out of 400) –
Based on this data, here is my predicted safe score for various posts –
| Post | Expected Safe Score |
| Delhi Police SI (Male) | 330 – 335 |
| CISF | ~300 |
| Other Posts (CRPF, BSF, ITBP, SSB) | 275 – 295 |
If you are targeting Delhi Police, aim for that 330-335 mark. For any other uniform, a score around 280-300 should confidently secure you a post.
Expected SSC CPO Mains Date & English Strategy
The expected date for the SSC CPO Mains is September 2026. This gives us a solid window to gear up after wrapping up the physical tests.
As a candidate myself, I am treating this English paper with extreme caution. Recent exam trends suggest that SSC is using AI to create their question papers, which means we can expect highly complex, logic-driven questions rather than just repetitive past-year questions. To tackle this, my personal study schedule is currently built around a 60-day intensive plan dedicated purely to mastering hard and rare level synonyms, one-word substitutions, and idioms. Right after that, I have lined up a 45-day strict testing phase focused entirely on advanced grammar concepts like inversion, parallelism, and subjunctive mood. We cannot afford to lose silly marks in English!
